In today's Chicago Tribune I learned that William Ihlanfeldt passed away and that his memorial service is being held in Arizona. I hope that someone at Messinger will forward this message to Bill's family. I was a college student at Northwestern in the early 1970s when Bill was the Director of Admissions. I got involved with the Admissions office as a freshman who volunteered to give campus tours. I got to know Bill and his staff - Don, Peggy, Shepp, and Tina - better than I got to know most of my professors. Bill Ihlanfeldt ran a good ship; to this day I have never been in an office that accomplished so much with a lighthearted and caring attitude. But for having a little more coach's demeanor and a little less ivory tower demeanor than his peers, the William Ihlanfeldt that modeled leadership for me could have been a university president. I have had two successful careers rooted in the things I learned and the people I met at Northwestern. I am so grateful that Bill Ihlanfeldt and his staff admitted me to NU and then took me under their wing to show me how hard administrators work to keep an institution up to high standards. My wife and I are fortunate to have two children attending elite and prestigious universities. Although they have never met William Ihlanfeldt, they have been influenced by how Bill mentored me and enhanced my education. I will miss him, but please know how fondly I will remember him. Regards, Datu Ramel Northwestern University CAS 1973 GSM 1975

The Wheaton Community Radio Amateurs will remember Richard Dickson W6BVA who passed on Christmas Eve 2007. He was very helpful and active as a ham radio personality and encouraged many people in the hobby. He was instrumental in our obtaining a very good location for our UHF repeater which we all use daily and we speak of him often. We wanted to leave this message for our friend since he was cremated and no obituary was given. 73 Rick from those of us in Chicago.

My younger sister is actually best friends with the Messingers daughter. We used to live right down the street from them too...Until my mom passed away on March 2, 2005. The Messingers loved our family so much, they helped us out so well with the funeral. It was beautiful. Death isn't a thing you get to shop for, so why talk about it as if you own a shopping mall. I'm sorry, I love you guys I truly do...but how do you make it so easy to just bare through every funeral. Your Funeral Planners and you don't cry. How can I make my tears go away. Why can't it be easier for me. Why can't I let my mom go?

I am 24 years old and i have ALWAYS been a huge fan of Forensic Science. In my free time i am always glued to my television watching forensic files or on my computer researching past cases of all kinds that were solved using forensics. I would love to have a career that involves this. Also, I have always saw myself doing autopsies. I would love to do forensic pathology, but i am just at a stand still. Where do I begin? What are the best schools in my area for this field? Considering that no one in my family shares my interest in this, I have pretty much kept things to myself. I read books and do reaearch all the time. I would love to say to someone, "hey, come look at this" and not get a negative response. Are there any chat rooms or websites where I can chat and relate to others who share my passion for this? Or, any sites that can help get me started? Thanks

The anniversary of our beloved Susan House (43) is upon us on the 16th of December. This is a friendly reminder to all "DON"T DRINK AND DRIVE! It kills loved ones. Her grandchild, sons, mother and friends miss her dearly! God now has us in his hands and carries us thru the days as we move forward with life however never forgetting the joy that she brought to this earth the time we had her. God Bless those that drink and may they someday heal and see life thru clear eyes and a clear mind and remember the days on earth that God has given us.

Hi Paul, very professional web site. Had occasion to use your facility last year. Staff and facility were top notch. As a student at ASU I worked nights at Paradise Chapel for Ralph Sage and remember meeting you at St Joseph's Hospital ER in your new, "super-neat" off-red ambulance (Buick?). I seem to remember you working for Mr Mercer on Thomas Rd in the 50's. Congratulations on your professional success.
